Which tape (WB06T10007 or WB06K5042) should be used when replacing my Kenmore Elite cook top?

Since the parts list diagram shows two types of tapes (plastic and foam), you may need to use both. I am not able to physically examine your cook top to see how the plastic tape (part WB06T10007) was used on your range. I recommend that you find the plastic tape on your original cook top and determine how it was used. If you are not able to find the plastic tape used on your original cook top then you may not need it.

The foam tape is used on the outside bottom edge of the cook top during installation as shown in the image below. You will need to use this tape as described below. The original part number for the foam tape is WB06K5042. It substitutes to new foam tape part number WB2X9902.
