A:

I did not find an installation guide for that cook top available online or in a hard copy format.

There should be a KW rating plate on the cook top. This type of cook top has burners that are rated at the following wattages:

  • 1200
  • 2500
  • 2 @ 2000
If all of the burners were operated at once using full power then the cook top would use about 7.7 KW and would draw about 32 amps. This type of cook top will normally require a 40 amp circuit breaker and 8 ga. copper wire. The local and national electrical codes should be followed when installing this cook top.

Thanks, Unfortunately the owners manual has no information in it. I need to get a wiring instruction or installation instruction or manual that gives me the specifications for the amperage draw for this unit.

Q:

Where can I find installation instructions for cook top model 911.42709100?

A:

The exact installation instructions for this model of Kenmore 30" cook top are no longer available for order in the hard copy version from Sears PartsDirect . The electronic version is not available online either. You can use the installation instructions for the GE model JP931BH1BB. The Kenmore model 911.42709100 was manufactured by GE and it uses the same size of top and the same burner box as the GE model listed above. Here is a link from the GEappliances.com website: Installation Instructions . If this link for the installation instructions does not work, go to the GEappliances.com website and use the owner's manual/installation guide search tool for model JP931BH1BB to find the installation manual that should work for your cook top. Although I am certain that the bottom burner box for this model is the exact same size as yours since they use the exact same part, I am not 100% certain that the top dimensions of the ceramic cooking surface are exactly the same. You can compare your exact dimensions on your Kenmore model with the top dimensions of the GE model on page 4 of the installation guide. It is likely that they will be the same or very nearly the same. I hope that this helps you with your installation.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
