How do I change a broken selector switch on my Kenmore ceramic electric cook top?

According to your description, I understand that you need to change out one of the element control switches (Key 19 in the third image below). To change out one of these components, you will need to remove the top to access the switch. The first image below shows the procedure for removing the top. NOTE: Disconnect electrical power to the cook top before starting this procedure.

The second image below shows the procedure for removing the element control switch. Be sure that you pay close attention to how the switch is wired. You may want to take a digital picture in order the document the wiring connections before removing it. After removing the switch, wire the replacement switch in the same manner as the original one. Reverse the procedure for reassembly.
