Thank you for your question on how to change the electronic control on the wall oven.

The F7 error indicates a stuck touch pad key on the control panel front.

It does not indicate it is the control board.

However the control front panel is very expensive for putting on this old range.

You will need to remove power to the wall oven and then pull the range out a little from the cabinet to get to screws that retain the front panel/touch pads.

Most of the inner controls are mounted to this front panel and will have to be removed to install on the new replacement panel.

You will need to remove the ribbon strip connector from the touch pad control panel front when you remove the electronic control from the panel.

Be very careful so you do not damage the ribbon harness. It has a ribbon lock on the electronic control connector that will need to be unsnapped to release the old ribbon and install the new one and locked again.

Control panel part to order .

I hope this will be of some help to you. If you feel you will need more instructions please let me know.

Thank you for question and thank you for adding the model number. I understand your concern, we need to have a working oven especially during the holidays.

The "F7" fault code could mean a stuck key pad or it could mean a relay is turned on.

Determine if the problem is with the Key Panel/Control panel or Oven Control board by:

1. Pushing the CLEAR/OFF pad.

2. Disconnecting the the Ribbon cable from the control board and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if the Code recurs.

  • If the code recurs, the problem is in the control board and it would need to be replaced.
  • If the code does not recur, the problem is with the key panel and it will need to be replaced.

In order to stop the beeping and code, disconnect the power supply by locating the two house circuit breakers dedicated for the oven and flipping both circuit breakers OFF.

Note: I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven. Note: If you plan on attempting to diagnose which one has failed, shut the power supply OFF before dropping the control panel down and disconnecting the control panel ribbon connector from the oven control board.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why would a Kenmore model 911.41369792 double oven display an F7 error code?

A:

The F7 error code indicates that a keypad is stuck or a control relay is stuck.

You can turn the power off for a couple of minutes and see if the problem reoccurs when you power the oven back up.

If the error comes up then most likely the console has a stuck keypad. If the error doesn't come up then start the oven and see if it will now work.

If the error comes up in the middle of the cycle then most likely the relay on the control is stuck and the control will have to be replaced.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem but if you can always submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
