Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As Joseph P. suggested in the first response; adding the model would be most helpful in providing model specific troubleshooting assistance.

Based on your symptom and details it sounds like it may have a failed electronic oven control providing the gas range is getting the proper voltage supply.

If you feel confident in repairing it yourself; reply in the thread with the model number for model specific troubleshooting assistance. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Michelle: Since it lost power it may have a shorted wire, heating element or control. When it shorted it likely tripped one of the two dedicated circuit breakers in your house circuit breaker box. Locate the two circuit breakers and reset both breakers and see if the clock/oven control will power up. If it does not power up, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

The theory of operation for the oven door lock assembly in that self clean mode is shown in the image below. According to your description, it is likely that the oven door latch motor assembly has failed. You can shut off the house circuit breaker for the range and access that lock assembly by lifting up the cook top. I recommend that you check the wiring connections between that lock assembly and the clock control board in the console. If you find no wiring connection problems, then you will probably need to replace that door lock motor assembly. You can view the parts and order them through the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a direct link for that door latch motor assembly: Oven Latch Motor .

These tips should help you resolve this oven door lock problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
