Question and Answers

Q:

Model no. 911.36665896 kenmore oven. Oven won't work. Kenmore Oven 911.36665896

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your oven. Upon researching model911.36665896; it sounds like you may need to replace the igniter for the oven burner. The igniter for the oven gets hot enough to open the safety gas valve causing it to ignite the gas, when the igniter fails it does not get hot enough or does not get hot at all so the gas valve does not open and the oven does not heat. The broiler and the oven have different igniters on this model.  I have posted a link below of the igniter for the oven burner.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

When you turn any burner knob to the "lite" position, all 4 burner ignitors should spark until you move the knob away from lite.

If one ignitor does not spark that ignitor is bad or needs cleaning. Sometimes the wire from the ignition module to the ignitor gets pinched or broken. This will cause the ignitor to not spark.

To test an ignitor remove it and put a working ignitor in its place. If the replacement ignitor sparks, replace the ignitor you removed.

If the ignitor is sparking but not lighting the burner, the burner needs to be cleaned.

If none of the ignitors spark when you turn one particular burner knob to lite, the switch on the burner valve is bad. The 4 switches and the harness to them is one part number. For your range the switches and harness are part number WB18T10345, and the price is around $31.00.

Q:

How do I connect the wires to the replacement spark module for my Kenmore range?

A:

Yes, you need to disregard the green ground wire. The new spark module is internally grounded now.
