Q:

I WANT TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC RANGE CONTROL, PART #342136 ON MY KENMORE RANGE, AND I AM LOOKING FOR DIRECTIONS FROM YOU.......CAN YOU HELP ?

A:

When it comes to replacing parts on your appliances it can be tough without any instructions. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to verified your model number and attach it to this thread so you can get a better answer from the experts. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As Dezeray suggested in the first response, adding the model number will be needed in order to provide model specific instructions.

This electronic oven control is used in over 40 different Kenmore ranges and without knowing the model number of your specific range I can't be certain of which model you have.

If you could provide me with the complete model number I will be happy to provide instructions. The model numbers are typically located somewhere around oven cavity opening. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

Paul: Thank you for adding the model number. To access the electronic oven control: First disconnect the range from the power source. Hinge the main top up and remove the metal panel covering the electronic oven control. You will find several screws to remove in order to remove the metal cover. Once the cover has been removed, you will see the electronic oven control. There will be 2-4 screws securing the control board to the bracket. Once the screws have been taken out the control board can be removed and the wires disconnected. Note: Before disconnecting the wires from the control board, make a note of which terminals the wires are connected to, otherwise you will not know where to connect the wires on the new control board. I was not able to locate any written instructions for your model. I also added an image below that is close to your model range. I hope this is helpful. If you do not feel confident in removing and replacing the control board, I suggest calling service.
