Question and Answers

Q:

orifice size for kenmore stove model# 911.3212990 911.3212990

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you.

I do apologize, but we need to know what orifice you are referring to. Also it is not a good idea to drill out pre-purchased and pre-drilled orfices for the unit.

I do apologize the manufacture does not give us the orifice sizes only the part numbers. You would need to contact the manufacture to see if they still carry that information.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to remove and replace the spark ignition switch, the glass top must be taken off. NOTE: Disconnect the cook top from the power source and shut the gas off to the cook top before servicing.

To remove the glass top:

  1. Remove the grates
  2. Remove the burner caps and trim ring
  3. Remove all the control knobs
  4. Remove all the screws securing the burner bowls to the burner.
  5. Lift the glass top up and off.
  6. Disconnect the two wires from the faulty spark ignition switch
  7. Pull the spark ignition switch up and off the burner valve. It may have plastic latch on the switch to pry outwards before the switch can be lifted off the valve.
  8. Reverse the procedure to install the switch and top.
I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
