Question and Answers

How can I fix my gas cook top that has the burner igniter continuously clicking?

The spark module is working on AC power. The wiring diagram is for this model of cook top is shown in the image below. It is likely that you have a burner switch that has gone bad and is constantly sending AC voltage to the spark module.

Until you can replace the defective switch, the only way to stop the constant clicking would be to find the breaker that shuts off AC power to the cook top. I recommend checking in other locations for the breaker for this cook top. Sometimes, a separate breaker box on the outside of the house controls certain appliance wiring.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the cook top.
