Since the wiring diagram is no longer available I would recommend replacing the switch and the cable.

The part number for the switch is 681064-01 for $12.89

The part number for the cable is 242267-05 for $11.04

Both parts are available at Sears Parts Direct .

If I can be of further assistance please feel free to follow this thread with any questions you have along with the specifics I hope this helps.

Q:

Had to loosen rear wheel axle while replacing flap guard on back of mower. Now cannot get height adjustment cogs to engage and get axle back into correct positi 900370511 Craftsman Mulching mower

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your mower and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 900370511 and I recommend disassebling the rear section again. You may need to remove the lever lock item 45 and screw item 17 that is holding the lever in place and reset the entire adjusting section. Set the machine at its highest point. I hope this information helps. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Does this involve removing the entire upper shroud? I had been trying unsuccessfully to replace the axle with the height adjustment engaged. I assume from your answer that I need to replace the axle and then re-engage the height adjustment mechanism. Is that right? Jill
