I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some difficulties with your air tools. Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If there is not enough air pressure supplied to the air ratchet and impact wrench, the units will operate and only allow air to exhaust when the trigger is pulled.  Check the air compressor air pressure; the air tools require a maximum of about 90 PSI at 2-5 CFM.

The impact wrench and air ratchet might need lubrication. To manually lubricate, disconnect the tool from the air line. Depress the trigger and put 3-4 drops of air tool oil (you can use sewing machine or 3 in 1 oil) into the air inlet fitting. Run the tool for 30 seconds and the oil will be distributed through the tool.

If it will not operate at 90 PSI after oiling, then it could have leaky seals or the rotor is seized. The units would have to be carefully dis-assembled paying close attention to the location and order of the parts.

Your best solution is to take them both in for repair/service. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician.  Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations:  Sears Home Services
