This unit has a guardian system that controls some of the functions. I strongly recommend having a technician check and repair this unit. The guardian control is no longer available. This can be a complicated system to check, even for a technician. There is control board for one motor and an ambient sensor for the other motor. I suspect the motor that is coming on late, is working off the ambient sensor. The other motor should come on right away. It could be a motor problem, a board problem or capacitor. The best way to determine the problem is, by checking the voltage on the black and red wire at the motor. This is 240 volts and can be very dangerous. I recommend having a technician make this check. If there is 240 volts at the motor, then the motor and capacitor will need to be replaced. If there is no voltage there, the board will need to be replaced. However the board is no longer available for this unit. A technician will be required to make the proper repairs, to enable the motor to operate again. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Jacqueline - thanks for the advise. BTW, I changed the connector (relay). So, I'm guessing that one of the fan motors is either burned out or has a wiring problem. There are 2 fans. Should one of them turn on as soon as the condenser starts or is it delayed? Any other troubleshooting ideas?
