Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the furnace.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number  867.761823.

It sounds like your thermo couple is going bad.  When coming on you said the flame is red so that usually means your ignitor is good at least.  I would replace the thermo couple tubes from the pilot to the ignitor.

Thermo couple per model 867.761823

If you have further questions please let me know.

John thanks for writting back.  I see no other way to adjust the pilot to make the flame bigger.   I would get a professional to look at it but what you are saying and from experience, I am certain you just need that thermo couple tube.

If you have further questions please let me know.

The original fan and limit switch probably has one wire that connects to 2 terminals. The replacement fan and limit switch probably has an internal jumper so it uses 3 terminals.

I don't have a wiring instruction sheet to reference this problem. If you can send images of both fan and limit switches showing the wiring terminals I can probably tell you how to wire the switch.
