Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It sounds like something is overheating during that first load and not being detected until the first load. When you have something that is overheating it could be hard trying to pinpoint the main issue because it could be a number of things. I would recommend having a tech come out and running the proper tests to figure out what need replaced.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

I have a gas (natural gas) dryer. I am moving to a location that has propane. What do I need to change? LGR8620PW0

A:

Thank you for being Sears' valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about converting your Whirlpool gas dryer model LGR8620PW0 from natural gas to liquid propane (LP). I will be happy to help you with this.

You will need the gas conversion kit. I have included the link below for you to order it.

LP Conversion Kit for Whirlpool Dryer LGR8620PW0

Once you have the kit ordered, set up an appointment for a technician to install it. Gas conversions should only be completed by a qualified technician to prevent the risk of dangerous gas leaks. If the conversion is not completed properly, it could result in property damage, personal injury and even death. Many states have laws requiring a technician complete this conversion for that reason. I recommend you contact your gas company. They will often send a technician to your home to complete this process for you. Sears does not provide advice on these conversions for these safety reasons.

Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your home repairs but it is our opinion that gas conversions are too dangerous for a do-it-yourself project. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
