Q:

The lower part of the door handle is blistering; is this normal? 72186003010 Kenmore Elite Microwave hood combo

A:

Ours is also blistering. Assume from the heat from the burner on the gas range below. Purchased a replacement handle for $86 and received no installation instructions with the part. Looks like you may have to destroy the door in order to get the old handle off since it is screwed on and the head of the screw is inside the door frame. Since we don't have the extended warranty an entire new door may be cheaper than a service call.

Ours is over a gas range as well. I had already determined that removing the handle didn't seem possible due to the hidden screw. The handle is a design flaw given that it is exposed to high heat. Thanks you for sharing your experience.

It is a cheap piece of plastic that will blister if you use the burner below it on a regular basis. I have gone through 2 handles so far and just installed a new one. You don't need to break anything to replace. You just pop on the plastic rectangular piece inside the door and then unscrew one screw on the next exposed rectangular piece. You can then pry that piece out with a screwdriver and you will have access to the bottom screw. Took 10 mins.

The display board inside the dispenser is probably failing and causing the filter status light to blink.

You can let the light blink and see if it changes to amber and red to indicate a filter change is needed. The blinking status light should not interfere with the operation of the refrigerator.

To replace the display board, you have to replace the front cover of the dispenser. You can go to www.partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch and see a parts diagram of the refrigerator. Go to the "dispenser front parts" page to see the dispenser parts. The display board is item 18, but to buy it you have to order item 23. The part number and price of the dispenser front is:

46 106 2318455W 1 $83.86 10656989602 FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY (INCLUDES ITEMS 18, 19, 20 & 21) (WHITE)

To remove the dispenser front disconnect the power to the refrigerator. Insert a flat blade screwdriver in the 2 slots on the bottom of the dispenser front and pry the bottom edge free. Pull the bottom edge out 1-2 inches and lift the dispenser front off the dispenser housing.

This is a fairly simple repair if you want to do it yourself.

Q:

keep geting an unbalance load error WA422PRHDWR/AA-0001 Samsung Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct.com. I will be happy to assist you with your washer. Upon researching model WA422PRHDWR/AA-0001, when the unbalance code comes up check the laundry in it to see if it would cause an unbalance load. If there are different types of clothing it might do it. Try putting just jeans or just shirts. If it comes up again press pause then reposition load or remove a few items then press start.

If you have any further questions please re-post question. Thank you for choosing Sears we appreciate your business. Have a great day.

same model WA 422 PRHDWR/AA 01 same thing gets pretty unbalanced during spinning cycle, even after rearranging the load , it adds more water and does the same thing over and over, wasting water and time. At the end the clothes are soaked, needless to say I can't use the thing . Had it repaired under warranty for a broken spin basket, the tech guy replaced the inner basket, left it loose , the drum tore up the outer tub with circular scratches , fortunately it doesnt leak yet, also tore up the balance ring on top of the drum it has a lot of scratches, it all ended up with a useless appliance that the company refuses to fix because it is out of warranty. I bought it new in May of 2013 at Sears. I'm pretty stuck unless the acknowledge a negligent repair the first time around New spin basket$ 156 new outer tub$ 162 New tub ring $ 50 , new balance ring $ 86, plus tech time , and swtill not guaranteed to work right, I'll do better buying a new one , Under warranty , but not a samsung Any suggestions, ideas, comments ? For the expert Mr Wallace Id like to know if the balance ring on top of the spin basket is supposed to have water inside that does not come out? Thanks
