The part number for that kit is LK45C but that kit is no longer available from the manufacturer. I provided some additional information about that kit in the original thread. Here is a link for that original thread regarding this issue: how to install icemaker on Kenmore frig model# 795.69002.906 . It may be difficult to obtain that kit.

If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

how to install icemaker on Kenmore frig model# 795.69002.906

A:

Summer weather calls for ice and it is convenient to have that option in a refrigerator. The expert will review this model to provide step by step instructions, but if you decide you would like to have an experienced technician complete this task, I attached the link to sears Home Services below.

Here is a link for the installation instructions for the ice maker kit that fits that Kenmore refrigerator: Kenmore Ice Maker Kit 795.8440 Instructions . If the kit that you received has the water valve and the parts that are shown in those instructions, then you should be able to install it using that information. If the kit that you received did not include the parts that are shown in the above manual, then that kit will probably not work for your model of refrigerator. The model number for the kit designed for that refrigerator is 795.8440 or LK45C.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Lyle, When I contacted Sears parts & tried to order Kenmore Ice Maker 795.8440 they could not find it listed - they said it wasn't a valid part number & was not a model number either. Please tell what the PROPER PART NUMER is for the Kenmore Ice Maker Kit you reference above in your reply. Thanks, Jay

Hello Jay. I checked further on that ice maker kit that is model 795.8440. That kit is no longer available through the Sears Parts system. There is an equivalent kit that is referenced above (LK45C). That LK45C is a kit that is manufactured by LG (the same manufacturer that produced the refrigerator model 795.69002.906 for Kenmore). You may be able to find that kit LK45C available at a parts distributor other than Sears. Sears does not have any of the LK45C left in stock. The manufacturer that produced the LK45C for LG is no longer producing that kit. I will try to find a source for that kit and update this thread as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience that this issue has caused.

I did not find that kit at any of the online parts distributors that I checked with. The link below shows that kit on Plessers.com but the page indicates that it is not in stock. The page indicates that you can call Plessers to see if they have a comparable kit that will be compatible with that refrigerator. I am not aware of a kit that would actually be compatible based on the wiring harness connections and components that are needed. Based on my research, I don't think that you will find that kit. There is not likely a practical way that you can add an ice maker to that model of refrigerator.

I can understand your concern about installing an icemaker. The information you have received from Joseph is good but it does not pertain to this model. Unfortunately, the icemaker in the top mount model will not work in this bottom mount. You will need to get a complete icemaker kit # 8440 that should be available at most retail stores. You can also get this kit at SearsPartsDirect . Installing this kit will also probably require a technician. I'm also listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.
