Q:

Proform treadmill shuts off if I set speed higher than 3.4. Is this circuit breaker or lubricant?

A:

I would suspect the belt needs lubrication, the voltage to the treadmill is low, or the circuit breaker is weak.

Test the belt by raising the incline to the maximum level. Stand near the front of the belt and don't turn the motor on. Push yourself firmly toward the rear of the belt. If the belt and walking board are good and the belt is properly lubricated you will slide down the belt to the end of the walking board. If you go 1-2 feet and stop lubricate the walking belt. The part number of the lubrication for the walking belt is 219168. You can order it from www.searspartsdirect.com or buy it at a retail store.

Measure the voltage to the treadmill by removing the motor hood and reading the voltage to the control board under load with a volt meter.

If these are OK replace the circuit breaker.

My proform treadmill has same issue even I short circuit the circuit breaker. So I know it is not circuit breaker issue. What voltage is an ok voltage on the control board and which two points on the control board I can measure the voltage? It is not lubricant issue neither as I was able to slide to end of belt when lifting treadmill to max height. thanks.

Sam, tried the calibration. Incline still won't go to zero, (1.5). I guess I'll have to try the new latch catch #153845 model 29798. Is their detailed instructions with the new part? I guess what I'm asking is this an easy fix. Thanks Bob g.

Thank you for the update and the question. It has to do with when you lift the deck for storage and if the deck is not all the way down it can mess up the mechanism and then needs to be repaired. I think they have changed this with the new models. Sam A.
