Q:

walking belt will not move on treadmill 831297790 Proform Proform j6si treadmill

A:

Thank You for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com

First I recommend checking the motor belt. If the belt is worn out or broke then the treadmill will not run. Also remember you know to clean and lubricate the walking belt. If there is a lot of dirt buildup under the belt then the belt can't slide easily over the walking board.

If you need further assistance, please resumbit your question with additional details. Thanks for visiting SearsPartsDirect.com

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your treadmill. You can watch THIS VIDEO to use as a reference for replacing the walking belt on your treadmill. The machine in the video is not the same machine you have, but the walking belt replacement is going to be very similar. the video is not like your treadmill and it will be different for your belt. just remove the rear end cap bolts the counting of the treads is not needed because the new belt will not be the same it will need it's own adjustment. then remove that end cap and rear roller. then remove the front hood and loosen the motor bolts sliding the motor back to loosen the drive belt and the front roller has one bolt on the other end from the pulley that bolt you will want to mark so you get the front roller back in the same exact position as before because the bolt is the front roller adjustment bolt if the front roller is not exactly strait it will run the belt off to one side. after taking that front roller bolt out lift up the roller and pull it out then remove the foot rails if they are stapled in you will need to just put a screwdriver under the staple and pry up breaking the foot rail from the board you will need to use screws to put the foot rails back on. under the foot rail there will be 3 screws or bolts holding the walking board on the frame the side the pulley is on remove them and the other side just loosen those 3 and lifting up from the other side you will have enough room to remove the belt and slide the new belt on. then just reverse the process to put it back together. if you have a cordless drill put the clutch at the lowest setting and just run the rear end cap screws which are the rear roller adjusting screws in until the clutch slips on the drill and you will be very close to the proper adjustment of the new belt. you just want to lift the belt at the middle of the deck up about 2 or 3 inches for the proper adjustment then when starting the treadmill you will need to adjust the rear roller for the belt to be running in the middle and not off to one side. which ever side the belt wants to run to tightening that side roller bolt will bring the belt back towards the middle of the deck. also get some belt lube the new belt should be lubed but some are not.
