Have you tried tensioning the main belt? The manual has the instructions.

Thank you for your question on the treadmill not moving the walking belt.

I would suggest unplugging the treadmill from the outlet and wait one minute and then slide the speed control down to the bottom and then plug the treadmill back it to the outlet and turn the on/off switch on.

Then put the key in and then select the mode and then push the start stop button.

You also could get some electrical contact spray and spray it into the slide speed control slot and work the speed control slide up and down to clean the contacts.

If that did not solve the problem please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.

The other possibility is that the motor controller has failed.

Note! Have you recently changed the motor controller? If you have then there are some compatibility instructions we need to address. If that is not the case then we will have to do some more diagnosis.

Q:

I'm trying to replace the walking belt on my proform 580si treadmill model #831.297643 .. I got off the front and rear covers but can't get off the side rails.

A:

I see your exercise routine has stopped while you repair the treadmill. I did some preliminary research while you wait for the expert and found a previous answer with a diagram that may show what may be holding the rails. I attached below. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.

The side rails are stapled to the walking board. To remove the side rail slid a straight blade screwdriver under the side rails and twist. This will remove the side rail. Occasionally the staples will rip through the side rails. That is ok, just removing the left over staples and secure the side rails with the screws supplied with the walking belt.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

I HAVE POWER BUT MY BELT WON'T WORK UNLESS I DO IT MANUALLY

A:

If the belt is not turning, the problem could be in the console, power supply board, motor controller, motor, or the wiring harness.

Someone will need to diagnose the problem with a volt/ohm meter. I suggest you schedule service and get a Sears technician to diagnose and repair the problem.
