Question and Answers

Q:

The parts I need are unavailable. Looking for possible acceptable replacements. 831297280 Lifestyler Lifestyler expanse 2000, treadmill

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
The Cushion Knob and Rod Endcap don't have any direct substitutions or else the manufacturer would have offered a direct replacement to the originals. The design of these parts must have changed in later models or have become obsolete.
The best thing we can recommend at this point is to run an online search for the part description and part number to see if you can find any online that are still available. Sometimes you can find a vendor online that still has original stock. That would be our best recommendation at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Let us know if we can be of any further assistance and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

It sounds like the console has failed on your treadmill. Essentially you have 2 failures that both point me to the console (rather than the controller). Because you have no belt movement and the incline does not work, but the machine does come on, this points to the console more so than anything else. It is possible that the controller has failed and is causing this to happen though. The electronics would have to be tested with a meter to find out for sure which one it is.

For what it's worth, both the console and controller are no longer in production so no matter what we find out we still won't be able to fix it. If you do have a meter and want to test it (just so you can know), remove the motor hood and see if there is a schematic there. If there is a schematic and you have a meter, let me know back and I'll direct you what to test and when.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem entering calibration on the treadmill. I have looked up the console for the treadmill. I show the console to be a model ET-88. I posted a image of what the console should look like and the instructions for calibrating the console. If the console image looks like what you have, follow the instructions in the first image. If you still cannot enter diagnostics I suspect a failed button on the console.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the treadmill.
