Q:

Treadmill Console 831-297260

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your Treadmill.

After researching this model, it seems to me like the control console would need to be replaced.. It is what controls the buttons and displays the information to you. Unfortunately based on the age of the unit, which is just about 20 years old. The part is no longer offered by the manufacture and will require a technician to fix the part that’s on the treadmill. The original part number for the console is 115811.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

how hard to change the motor drive belt 831297260 Lifestyler Treadmill

A:

Thank you for your question. To remove the drive belt the back roller will need to be loosened to relieve tension on the walking belt. Now, the front roller can be loosened and the belt rolled off the motor pulley. The left side of the roller will need to be lifted out of the frame to remove the belt and the new belt can be installed. I'm also attaching a link to a video to replace the belt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnrfskadyCQ . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services

Thank you for your question.

If the belt is off to one side, it is most likely rubbing the end caps. That is the noise you are hearing. You can adjust the walking belt to get it back in the center. I have provided you with the instructions below on how to adjust the walking belt.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
