Q:

Incline motor runs constantly. 831297171 Lifestyler Lifestyler expanse 800

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your treadmill and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 831297171 and this is most likely a problem with the board but you can check the photo switch on the inline motor just to be sure it is not broken. Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood. Locate the photo switch on the inline motor and make sure it is in place and that the little disk is clean and not broken.  If that all looks good then I would say it's the controller board causing the problem. Typically it would be a stuck relay on the board but since it's an integrated board, the whole board must be replaced. The controller is part number 137857R. I hope this information helps with your troubleshooting, I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the treadmill. I will be happy to assist you. I recommend running the treadmill and making the belt stop. When you make the belt stop, watch the front roller. If the front roller keeps turning, the walking belt is still loose. If the front roller stops turning the drive, belt is loose or the pulley is slipping on the roller. To determine which one is the problem you have to remove the hood. Then do the same test you just did but watch the roller pulley. If the roller stops but the pulley does not the problem is the front roller. In the roller and the pulley stop, the problem is a loose drive belt.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance, on the mower.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
