Question and Answers

Q:

Treadmill maintenance

A:

Treadmills are great but they remove any weather excuses for not going out to walk. I can understand why you would not want to use the treadmill when it is making that noise. While you wait for the expert answer, you can check a similar question and answer from a previous post. I attached below. I also see that Sears Parts Direct does carry the lube for your model if needed. Hope this helps!

The walking belt will need to be lubed about once or twice a year, depending on how often you use the machine. I will cut/paste the directions for lubing the walk belt for you.

How to lubricate an Icon treadmill walking belt

Turn treadmill off, and unplug from the power outlet.

Start with the walking belt seam at the front roller.

Using the T-Wrench or Allen Wrench loosen the rear roller adjustment bolts 10-12 turns counter-clockwise to get enough slack in the walking belt to get one (1) hand underneath the belt.

Lift up the walking belt as high as possible.

Squirt half (1/2) of the deck wax in a zig-zag pattern across the entire walking deck surface.

Slide the walking belt by hand until the seam is at the rear roller.

Squirt the other half (1/2) of the deck wax in a zig-zag pattern across the entire walking deck surface.

Tighten both of the rear roller adjustment bolts 10-12 turns clockwise. (The same number that was turned in step 3)

Plug the treadmill into a power outlet and turn power switch to the "ON" position.

Attach the safety key to the operator and then the console.

Start the treadmill and allow it to run for three (3) minutes.

Walk on the treadmill, at safe speed, for another three (3) minutes to help spread the deck wax across the walking deck.

Wipe off any excess deck wax that may have seeped out from underneath the walking belt, with a clean damp cloth.

Center the walking belt as needed.
