Q:

Why is my Lifestyler 2100 Auto Incline treadmill stuck on high speed?

A:

I assume that you have tried to turn the speed control handle to reduce the speed. This is done by turning the handle counter clock wise, with someone on the treadmill and the motor running.

Since your treadmill has not been used in many years, your pulley sheave has probably seized up. This pulley has a sliding sheave that moves from side to side of the pulley. If it doesn't slide the speed can't adjust. I recommend that you remove the front hood over the motor and check to see if the pulley movable sheave will slide back and forth. (Key number 45 in the image below) If it does not, clean and lubricate the pulley sheaves. Liquid wrench or similar lubricant would be excellent. Should this not solve your problem, this unit may not be repairable.
