Q:

How do you replace the left rear endcap? 831295231 Proform Treadmill

A:

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I undersatand the confusion when trying to replace the end cap.

*Unplug the Treadmill before attempting repair*

On this model you have to detach the rear belt roller to be able to remove the lleft end cap.

To do that you need the tightening key that came with your treadmill. I included an image below to help you with this process.

Remove the tightening bolt (#92) on both end caps to remove the roller (#85).

Once the bolts are removed slide the roller up and out of the way.

At this point the end cap should be able to slide off the back of the rails.

You may have to remove the rear leg/foot (#31)

To remove the foot, remove the base screws (#49).

Reverse these steps to reinstall the end cap.

Make sure the belt is even on the roller. Run the machine for a few minutes to make sure the belt and roller are aligned properly.

Make sure that the belt is properly aligned and has the proper tension according to the guidelines in your owner's manual. Here is a link for the manual in case you need it: Owner's Manual .

If the belt is adjusted properly, you may need to add some silicone lubricant to the board. The part number for the lube kit is 219168. You can order this kit from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If these tips do not help, you may have a bad roller on the treadmill. I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I repair a broken frame on my Pro-form treadmill model 831.295231?

A:

The frame of your treadmill is a non-serviceable part. The only thing I recommend is to find a local welding shop that can weld the frame for you. If you continue to use the treadmill eventually, the frame will come apart and the belt will start to shred. Then you will have to buy a new treadmill. We do not weld frames due to the liability factor. Most local shops will do it for you.
