Q:

treadmill problem 831.29425.2

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your treadmill is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you.

First have you unplugged your unit and plugged it back in? It may help the unit decline.

It will most likely be the fan that has failed. You will need to access the fan and then test for DC voltage at the fan (when it's switched on) to see if voltage is present. You will be looking for 9-12VDC between the 2 wires there. If the voltage is not there, the problem is within the console board and it will have to be replaced. If the voltage is there then you will just need to get a new fan.

As for the decline, the decline motor may have gone bad or will need to be calibrated.

If this does not help then a service technician will need to diagnose the unit.

Treadmill console unresponsive 831294252 Proform Proform 545s

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your treadmill. The testing for this can be complicated, but I have added images below to help. The first image below shows the wiring diagram for that treadmill. The second image shows a troubleshooting flowchart. The third image shows information for the motor controller. That information may help you diagnose and repair that failure in the treadmill. Note: Follow electrical safety guidelines when using this data. Wear electrical safety gloves and safety goggles when checking live voltage. Unplug the treadmill to disconnect electrical power as soon as live testing is completed. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on the link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Q:

Proform 545S treadmill Model Number 831.29425.2

A:

Sears treadmills are such excellent equipment for staying in shape. I can appreciate your need for instruction on this repair. The optic disc or the photo switch on the incline motor might be out of position or bad. The treadmill might also need calibrating. Visually inspect the optic disc and photo switch mounted to the incline motor. I am unable, at this time, to locate instructions specific to your model number. So I will I will forward your question to an expert who will investigate the matter further and get back to you. You will hear from them within two business days if not sooner. Until you hear from us, have a nice day.

I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your treadmill. The optic disc on this model is held in place by the switch nut, the switch and switch screw. The optic disc is supposed to spin freely in order for it to work. The disc is what the sensor use to determine is the treadmill is operating correct. From what you are describing, it is working just fine. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
