Q:

Excessive treadmill noise 831248653 Proform Proform xp crosswalk 580

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the excessive noise when the treadmill is in use. I know how inconvenient that is.

The noise you hear may be the bearings in the roller. It could also be the motor belt starting to break or split. If you remove the motor hood you will be able to inspect the motor belt. If it looks good, take the motor belt off and walk on the treadmill to see if you still hear the noise. If you do, it will likely be the roller bearings.

I hope this helps, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Why won't the display work properly on my Pro-Form treadmill model 831.24865.3?

A:

Your symptoms point to a failed control console. Since the speed and incline adjustments work, the motor controller under the hood of the treadmill and all of the other components are likely okay. Replacing the console will likely fix this problem. You can order a new console from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is 267886. NOTE: This is an expensive part ($332.99 not including tax, shipping and handling). Since the treadmill apparently works okay except for the display, you may consider continuing to use the treadmill with the current console until you encounter more serious problems. If you have any safety concerns about using the treadmill with the defective display then I recommend that you replace it. NOTE: If you buy the console and replace it yourself, be sure that you unplug the treadmill before accessing internal components.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
