Q:

What cause my pro-form 415 crosswalk treadmill to incline when I turn it on? 831247236 Proform Treadmill

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the treadmill

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Proform model number 831.247236.

First thing I would do is look at the manual and see what is says about the warranty.   See what the warrant if it will cover the motor, the wires, or the control board.   One thing to look at is the wiring between the motor and the console. See if there is any wire bare or loose.   That is something you can take care of quickly if it is either one.

Can you test your wires with a volt meter.  Should read the 120 volts.

It could be wires, could be control board, could be the incline motor.   Mostly sounds like a wire problem or control board.

I'd get a professional to come look at it.   We have our Sears Technicians at 1-800-469-4663.   If you don't have a manual you can download it free at www.managemylife.com so you can read what is stated about the coverage.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com
