Q:

Need to disconnect power cable from top of treadmill 831246240 Proform Pro-form 510i

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The information you are looking for on disassembling the console from the treadmill is covered in the owner's manual. It's located in the 'Assembly' section starting on page 6. You would just work backwards to disassemble versus assembling the unit.

On page 9, form8, there appears to be a pair of connectors but upon opening up the right shalt containing the power cable, there is no such connector. The cable is hard wired to the circuit board in the console. Clearly this model that I have does not match this manual, though the model numbers are the same. Does this imply that I got a cheap knock-off, and if so how do I go about rectifying this?

This could be a problem with the console or the motor controller. I see the console is no longer available, but the motor controller is available. Checks need to be made to the connections to determine which is malfunctioning. I highly recommend having a technician make these checks. You can schedule a Sears technician here; Sears Home Services . Thank you for using Manage My Life.
