Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com regarding the console on your Weider Platinum xp600 freezing on 10 lbs. and not allowing you to adjust the weight level. Without a complete model number, I am only able to provide you with general information. I recommend following the instructions in the link that Yadira provided you with to recalibrate the unit.

There are two limit switches that the system uses to determine when the minimum and maximum weight settings have been reached. If one of these switches becomes stuck in the closed position, the console will not allow the resistance to be adjusted any further towards the problem limit switch.

Remove the plastic shroud from the resistance mech to reveal the two limit switches (Figure 1). Press each switch several times, listening for an audible 'click' each time the limit switch is pressed. This should free the switch. If this does not correct the problem, check the lower wire harness. Reattach any loose wires. If a wire is damaged, the lower wire harness will need to be replaced. Parts can be purchased at Sears PartsDirect.

For further assistance, please respond to this thread with the complete model number of the home gym. If you do not feel comfortable repairing this issue yourself, service an be scheduled at Sears Home Services.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

The model number is 831153991. I have checked the console, upper wire harness and wiring through out the machine and found no problems. In addition, I have checked both limit switches and both are not stuck. I had manually moved the motor so the center pin is not against either limit switch. The console now shows 240 lbs. and the motor will not move in either direction when I toggle the console. I'm think the upper limit switch may need to be replaced. Any thoughts?

I posted some technical troubleshooting for that system in the images below. Your details seem to indicate that you have checked most of those issues. You can review the documents shown below and see if there is anything that you missed. You can try to calibrate the system as shown in the second image. If the motor does not run, then you could have a bad motor or a failed limit switch. I posted a wiring diagram in the 4th image below. That may help you check for proper voltage from the console for the motor and the limit switches. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

Q:

need higher resolution pictures 831153991 Weider Weider platinum xp600

I posted 6 troubleshooting pictures below. Here is a direct link for the owner's manual in case you need it: Weider XP600 Owner's Manual. The first image shows a cable diagram. The second image shows a voltage diagram. The machine uses low voltage DC so you can check the DC voltages using a multimeter. Use caution when checking the voltages and avoid direct contact with live wires. The voltages and amperage used in that machine are not high but you can still get a slight jolt if you contact a live wire with that DC voltage. The third image shows technical information for the console that you can use for troubleshooting. The last 3 images show troubleshooting adjustments.
