I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your washer. It the unit is not flushing the detergent out of the tray it can be one of two problems, the detergent is clumped and wont flush or the main water valve is not getting and signal to dispense the main compartment. The easiest is the remove the dispenser tray and clean it. The next thing is to check the water valve for voltage AC. To ensure the voltage is there on the valve. This is before ordering parts on it. NOTE: Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. NOTE: Live voltage checks are dangerous, and possibly deadly. Exercise caution at all times. If you are not comfortable working with live electricity I suggest you call an Sears Home Services technician. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thanks for the inquiry about long dry times with your dryer; sorry to hear you are having this issue.
Based on the description you provided, I believe there may be a venting issue and not a problem with the dryer. Because we have heat generally indicates that the unit is operating properly and attempting to perform correctly. However if the vent system that takes the warm air from the dryer to outside the home is restricted the dryer cannot complete the task.

There is a simple test you can perform to determine if the venting is causing this long dry issue. Remove the vent hose from the back of the dryer completely and set off to the side. Run a normal load of clothes and observe if clothes come out completely dry. If they do then the vent would need cleaning to correct the problem. (With vent off there will be heat and some lint dispersed into the room so be prepared for this.)

If this testing does not help, I would suggest calling for service as there could be components that are malfunctioning and need resistance checks to determine their condition.

I hope this helps you, should you need additional assistance please reply with added details and I will be happy to respond.

Thanks Ron H.
