Now the nut and the shaft/bolt it's attached to are both spinning together. they spin together regardless of if I'm turning right or left. I tried to take the unit apart, but it won't come apart unless the blade is off. What now?

Q:

Craftsman Edger - Model # 900.79654. I need to replace the hinge pin (Part # 84) on the swinging door. Do I need the clip or clips (Part # 85) to hold the hing

A:

The edger is great for working around the yard. Having new clips might be a good idea depending the condition of the ones you have. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take two business days for your expert to reply. I do hope that everything works out on the edger.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the edger. I looked up the model number you submitted. It looks like the hinge pin is secured with the clip. I tried to get an image of the clip but I did not have any luck finding one. I suspect the clip is just an E-clip the pushes onto the hinge pin. To remove this style of clip you can pull it off the hinge pin with a pair of needle nose pliers or pry it off with a small screwdriver. If the clip looks different than what I have explained, please reply below with an image of the door, hinge pin, and clip.   I should be able to assist you further with the image.

Thank you for using Mange my life.
