From the information you have provided above,  I would suggest to check if you can see any clogs in the drain hose or the pump itself. It’s likely the rug left a lot of particles and may have clogged the drain hose or pump. if you see any clogs clear it out make sure everything is nice and clean. If you still have this issue after doing this, it might be a bad door switch or pump.

 It sounds to me like the main pcb board is not allowing the unit to advance through the cycles. The control board will need to be tested to ensure this is the correct part. 

The control board controls all the functions that the unit does. If the control board is not telling the unit to advance then it could be bad.
