Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help you with your washer. Upon researching model79642192900; it sounds like there is soap build up in the tubes.  There is a clean cycle on this unit. It’s in the owner’s manual. Click here for the manual. It’s on page 23. You may need to run it a couple times to get all the buildup out.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business and have a great day.

Since I posted this question, it appears that the pump is not working. I can hear it running but nothing is being pumped out. I can still get water out of the pump drain hose at the bottom left of the machine. If this pump has been going bad, could it have been causing the foaming in the drum enough to come out of that vent or has all these cleaning cycles I've been running the washer through caused something to plug hoses some where after the pump since I am still able to drain the pump? In the cleaning processes that I have been running to clean out the system, I have also been draining the pump at the bottom. As I have been going through this process it seemed like I was getting more & more water out of the pump when I drained it.

Q:

OE Error on Model #79642192900 Kenmore Elite Washer

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your washer. The OE error code does indicate a drain issue. Since you have already checked the drain pump filter, I recommend taking the tub to pump hose off and ensuring that it is not restricted with debris. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. Then check the pump to stand pipe (house drain) drain line. Make sure the drain hose has an air gap at the stand pipe. Water may be siphoning back into the washer, or if the pump has to force the water into the house plumbing this may cause an OE. The drain pump can be working as designed but if the water is not being pumped out fast enough due to a restricted drain hose the washer will give this error. Confirm that the washer is leveled properly. If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. The image below will provide some additional troubleshooting and testing information. I am still getting OE error, erratically. I am also seeing soap bubbles. I am not putting in as much soap and have always used HE. I need to try the trouble shooting -- but why the bubbles?

Also, if I do have to have service, as I am under warranty --- since this is STACKED. Do they need to send 2 repair people? OR and any repairs be made without un-stacking the washing dryer from on top of the washing machine?

A:

If the washer is not cleaned regularly, then soap residue can build inside the pump. This is what is causing the bubbles. First, stop using the washer for a few days. Let the bubble dispate. Once most of them are gone, use a washer clean like Washer Magic inside the unit. This will remove the build up and clean out the pump. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

The stacking kit for that laundry pair is stock number 17002.  You should be able to purchase the stacking kit at your local Sears store. I did not find it available online through Sears.com or Sears PartsDirect. The UPC code for that stacking kit is 048231008327. It is the same as the LG Stacking kit that is stock number WSTK1 (LG manufactures that model of washer and dryer for Sears).

The stacking kit will have instructions for installation.

If you need more help, let us know.
