my refreg in leaking water in to grezer floor in about 5 days the ice sheet stars leaking on to kitchen floor. Any ideas whats wrong? 79578516800 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your question. Your symptom indicates that you likely have a clogged defrost drain tube or a leaking ice maker. Look for evidence of leakage from the ice maker. If you find no apparent leak, then you likely have a clogged defrost drain tube. To access the defrost drain pan, you would need to unplug the unit and remove the inside back panel of the freezer. With this panel removed, you should be able to the restriction in the defrost drain tube. This should fix your problem. Here is a video to help you out. The model is different the repair is the same.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. If the freezer temperature is not getting cold enough (below 12 degrees) the icemaker probably won't cycle. To check the temperature in the freezer, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temp is not a good check. If the temperature is too warm and if there is no frost accumulation and the fan motor is running, this will lead to a sealed system problem. A technician will be required to make this type of check. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
