Q:

I have an error code Er CO 79578402801 Kenmore Refrigerator

Q:

are the vetical door seals on the frig door adjustable? 79578402801 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about the vertical door seals (called the mullions) on your Kenmore refrigerator model 79578402801. I am so sorry they are not returning to the flat position and are causing the doors to stick open. I will be happy to help you with this.

Start by making sure the refrigerator is level. An unbalanced refrigerator can cause the doors to close at an angle and they may not close flush to the cabinet. I have included the link below for you to view some videos on replacing the mullions. This will help you determine if the parts are properly installed and if they may be damaged and need to be replaced.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. Internal parts may have sharp edges that can cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear work gloves. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Ice maker leaking 795.78402.801

A:

We had a pin-hole in the tube to the ice-maker that went unattended for 16 hours while we were away causing huge damage to our home. The technician wanted to replace it with exactly the same tubing giving us no confidence that this would not happen again after we repair & replace walls, floors, cabinets, doors & furniture in 3 rooms to our home - is there another solution to the plastic tube that comes with the machine. There is no explanation of what caused the hole. After speaking with folks this appears to be more common than one thinks. Thank you for any information you can share.

we have had the same problem twice in the past 6 months. the plumber says we're stuck with having to mate the water supply to the plastic tubing that leaks frequently. i guess we'll have to ditch this frig and get something else...not a Kenmore. we can't afford any more water damage.
