Q:

Lights and cooling 79577712700 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 795.77712700.  I am so sorry there is a continuing issue with the light, especially the problem with it not going out when the door is closed.  I know that is a major cause for concern and I am sure you want this corrected quickly. I will be happy to help you with this.
It sounds like there is a problem with the light wire harness. I recommend you start by disconnecting the power supply long enough for the bulb to cool sufficiently to be safe to touch. Remove the bulb until the repair can be completed. The manufacturer has made an upgraded part to fix this problem. If you are the original purchaser of the refrigerator, the repair may be covered under an extended warranty on the part by the manufacturer. To determine if you qualify for this repair please contact our service department at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME). Please have your refrigerator model and serial numbers when you contact service.

If you are not the original purchaser, you can still complete the repair. We will need the model number and serial number of the refrigerator to find the correct repair kit for your refrigerator. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Lights out in fridge, bulbs good, probable cause? 79577712700 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Refrigerator, Model: 795.77712700. From reviewing the details on your model, since you have changed the light bulb the only other thing I could think of that can be the cause of the light not turning on would be either the light socket, the wiring for the socket or the light switch itself.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the refrigerator to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.
