The product engineer shows no issues with the switch at this time. Per the manufacturer, the switch has the correct current load for the design usage. This switch is used for more than six hundred models stating around 2004. One thing the engineer suggests to check, unplug the refrigerator and make sure the light socket is making good contact with the lamp. The product engineer will continue to monitor the switch for any potential problems. If you have further problems or need additional assistance, let us know.

I have had the same problem since I first bought this refrigerator. I ordered a new switch. I hope that it will work, but I have no confidence in it based on what I see here. Since I moved the fridge to unplug it, and look at the switch, the fridge keeps beeping even though the doors are shut securely. I think the produce engineers have missed something. There is a problem with it.

I have also been experiencing the same type of problem. My unit was purchased in July of 2014 and have been dealing with this light switch failure for several weeks. The unit was just out of warranty and finding help is impossible. Everyone wants to send a repairman at $100 per hour to replace the $5 part. Sears customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE the automated phone service is very annoying and when u go to the store they redirect you to call the service department number because all they care about is selling items to you. Probably a commission based employer. They hound you to buy but won't help after the sale is completed.
