Q:

What does the error code mean on my refrigerator?

A:

I referred to the profile you created in the website and see that you have Kenmore Elite refrigerator model number 795.75559400. Using this information, the FF fault code on your model indicates that the control board detects no fan motor signal for more than 65 seconds during the operation of the Freezing Compartment Fan.

This can be caused by several failures. Wiring or control board contacts could be damaged or shorted. The fan motor could be bad. The fan blades could be hitting against ice/frost buildup or the internal housing of the freezer.

You will need a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of failure.

This error code happened to us. Before sending out a tech look for frozen ice build-up on back wall over freezer fan. If there is any just knock it off. So far this has worked. It's amazing though there is no error code references in the owners manual and Sears only wants to send someone out to repair it, and just try getting to the manufacturer directly for answers....impossible.

It could possibly be a issue with both parts but I would replace the tank before the water valve, the information is provided below.

To remove the tank, remove the screw holding it in place. Now you can remove the tank from the water valve by pressing in on the valve collar while pulling the tank outward. With the tank loose now, you can remove the water line. This is done the same as the water valve. I'm sending you some pictures with instructions of how this type of fitting works. You can remove the tubing on the new tank now and use the existing tubing there now.
