Question and Answers

Q:

Model#795.75552400 does not dispense water 79575552400 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your water will not dispense.

First make sure your filter is new and has been changed every 6 months. A dirty filter can cause the dispenser not to work.

Then, you will need to check the water inlet valve to make sure water is actually getting into the unit.

Check to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve.
Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Marc, the removal of the old dispenser assembly was not a problem. The problem is replacing the hose assembly from the dispenser unit to the exterior access point on the outside of the door. Unit comes with new hoses and figured I might as well replace it all.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your water dispenser. Below I have included an image on how to open up the front dispenser assembly. This information will help make the repair a little easier. That valve is shown in the image below. Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the washer supply before beginning this repair. You should be able to remove that cover by just removing the screw or screws that secure it to the inside panel of the door. You can then disconnect the water lines and the wiring connections on the valve. The water line connections have the John Guess fittings. Push in on the collar and then pull the fittings out. Be prepared to catch water that will flow from the lines when they are removed. I would suggest that when you have this open you check the dispenser lever. It can stick, which will cause it to leak. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

AnneJ, appreciate you providing the directions. Worked just as it was explained in the attachments you provided. Turned out that the problem was the water tank itself. Under pressure an invisable crack in the lower side of the tank would allow water to leak out when in use. Could not see this due to the crack being against the door. Filled tank with water and put under low pressure with air compressor and it verifed the crack. New water tank order.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry that your refrigerator is giving you an error code. It is very inconvenient not to have your refrigerator cooling.

  • The ErFF error code is seeing that there is a problem with the evaporator fan motor or the interconnecting wires from the main control board. Voltage checks have to be made from the board as well as the signal voltage to the motor.

  • I would strongly recommend because of the complexity of the electrical control system in this refrigerator that you have a technician check out the problem.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I have included a picture below of the error code from the Technical manual.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
