Question and Answers

Why does the ground fault circuit breaker open, whenever the icemaker is on?

The icemaker should be ok, no parts should be needed. This is normal for a refrigerator connected to a ground fault breaker. If it only trips with the icemaker working you have actually been very fortunate. It could trip the breaker at any time just running or when it goes into a defrost cycle. Major appliances should not be connected to a ground fault breaker or this will be a common occurrence. All major appliances use a 3 prong ground cord and when connected to a ground fault circuit, it can short the outlet at any time. If you connect this refrigerator to a regular grounded outlet, it will probably be ok. If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.
