Q:

how do i replace a cam shaft on my kenmore refrigerator? 795.7130*4010

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 79571304010 and the cam slides into the center divider holder. You will need to remove the cover you will start from the bottom and pop each clip out as you move up the cover. You  will now need to replace the lower one also part # is 4430JJ2005B. Here is a video that will help with the gasket. You will need to work the gasket back into place. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Scott did you not see my comment about Sears coming over and they told me I need the gasket assembly for both doors at a cost of 483.64.and you just cant replace the cams because I had them ready for him.It cost me 75.00 and i declined there estimate. Now if i call them back it will cost me another 75.00. I am a retired person who use to work as a refrig serviceman back in 1967.

I cant believe Sears would sell a refrig that would cost soo very much to get repaired Sorry to say this but now I know why Sears is falling to consumers. A dutch door refrig I wonder if the refrig of the same type by other vendors would comer out the same? I can see if the compresor would fail but not two latches. I need help and I know you can help me.

Larry, I'm very sorry for the confusion. I have checked with the source on this. The cams are available but it has since been determined, that the best option is to replace the complete gasket. The cams became a separate item recently that could be purchased without having to get the complete gasket but in many cases, the holder for the cam also breaks, which requires the complete gasket to be replaced. The cams on the new gasket are the updated cams, which are stronger than the original cams. I'm attaching some pictures with instructions to remove and replace the gasket. I hope this will help you.
