Thank you for submitting your question. I can understand your frustration trying to determine why the refrigerator will not cool on either side.

Motors and electronic controls can be very sensitive to power surges or shorts in the wiring caused by rodents or other animals chewing on the wiring. Not only will chewing harm the animal doing the chewing, but it can cause major damage to appliance components.

In this case there are no real diagnostic troubleshooting steps to follow. When nothing works, it is best to start at the source which is the incoming power and determine where that line breaks. At this point, there is likely a problem with the main control board. From there the only way to determine the extent of the damage would be to troubleshoot all components. It is unlikely that the motors, compressor and control board are defective but that cannot be determined at this time. At this point, it is best to have a Sears service technician take a look at your refrigerator to determine what parts need to be replaced to get your refrigerator operational again.

You can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

I hope this helps with your refrigerator problem. If you have any further questions, please ask them here and I will do my best to help you in any way I can.

The refrigerator does not have a reset or fuse other than the one on the control board. When you disconnect the power to the control board and reconnect it, the control board automatically resets itself.

Be sure the compressor and the condensing fan in the compressor compartment are running. It sounds like the refrigerant is circulating, that would be the gurgling sound you hear.

If the compressor, condenser fan motor, and the evaporator fan motor are running and the refrigerator is not cooling, there is probably a problem in the sealed refrigeration system. It would be best to have a technician repair the refrigerator if this is the case. You can go to Home Services and get a Sears technician repair the refrigerator.
