Q:

display panel 79558822900 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your display is not showing the correct temperature.

If the correct temperature is not showing then the temperature sensor could be bad.  The temperature sensor is located in the freezer section and takes the freezer temperature. This would be the part to replace before looking at the display itself.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

What are the odds that both sensors can be out. The display is showing both temp settings mixed with bright numbers and half with dull. Any way of checking the sensors with a meter.

Q:

Ice door does not close. Hangs free. 795.58822.900

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 795.58822.900. I am so sorry the ice door is not closing. That can let warm air into the freezer section so I know you want to get this fixed quickly. I will be happy to help you with this.

There are basically three parts to the ice door. The door cap assembly, the spring and the reverse motor. Any one of these parts could be the problem. I have included the link below for you to view the instructions on how to access the door.

The instructions will help you access the ice door so you can see if the spring is out of place, damaged or missing. Also check the door cap for damage. If those parts are okay, then the issue is likely the motor. I have included the links below for the parts. That way once you have determined the issue, you can order any parts you need.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
