Question and Answers

Q:

what part controls the lights in the refrigerator 79577304600 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the lights staying on in the unit. I know how concerning that is to have happen.

This is a 'known' issue with this model of refrigerator, and the lights are covered in an extended lifetime warranty for this issue.

We request that you call 1-800-469-4663 and set up a warranty repair visit. The technician will test the sockets and either replace the sockets or the electronic control, which controls the light operation. This will be offered at no cost.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

I have the very same issue with the lights. A repairman did come to my home and said that a kit was needed to finish the repairs. He ordered the kit and set up a new time for the repairman to install. I have gotten at least 3 notices telling me that the part is backordered. I have unscrewed the bulbs so I dont get a lot of heat when the lights decide to stay on...very frustrating.

Q:

How to remove and reinsert Power Control Board and Cover and the Case? 795.77304600

A:

You will need to remove the lamp lens and then remove 2 screws in the plastic housing near the front corners. Once the screws are removed, you will need to gently but firmly pull the lamp case down. Then you will need to remove the lead wire on the right position and seperate the lamp sockets. At that point you should be able to see the clips that are holding 503e in place.

If you do not feel this is a repair you can do, I recommend scheduling service and having qualified tech come to your home.

Remember to remove power from your refrigerator before installing the control assembly.

Q:

Have error code 79577304600 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore refrigerator.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your refrigerator malfunction, after researching model number 795.77304600. This is a defrost error code. It means that the defrost sensor has not reached a temperature of 46 degrees within one hour after a defrost cycle has started. The most common fix for this, is to replace the controller # 6615JB2005C. This part is located just above the evaporator on the right side. The back panel in the freezer will need to be removed to access this part

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.
