Question and Answers

Q:

what board supply's power to burners 79097473800 Kenmore Elite Electric range

Q:

F10 Code 79097473800 Kenmore Elite Electric range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The F10 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects a runaway temperature. If the oven is not overheating (or is at room temperature); this can be caused by a failed oven temperature sensor probe, a wiring failure, or a failed electronic control board. If the oven is overheating, you could have a failed relay on the electronic oven control board and this component would likely need to be replaced.

If the oven is not overheating, I recommend unplugging the range and checking the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe with a volt/ohm meter. You can normally access this component from inside the oven cavity. (Some models have probes that must be accessed from the outside back panel of the range.) Remove the screws that mount the probe to the upper back wall of the oven and carefully pull the probe into the oven cavity until you can access the disconnect plug. Unplug the probe from the wire harness connection but do not let the wire harness shrink back into the opening in the back of the oven wall. Check the resistance of the probe with a volt/ohm meter. I provided the resistance chart in the first image below. At room temperature, it should measure around 1100 ohms. If the resistance is high or way out of range, the temperature probe will need to be replaced.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

fault codes

A:

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your range displaying an error code. We are here to help. The way to clear error codes on a range is, unplug or turn off the circuit breaker to the range. Once the power is off to the range, keep it off at least 2 minutes. Next, turn the power back on to the range and try it. If the error code comes back, the problem is not fixed. That means a part needs to be replaced to fix the problem. The image below shows the different error codes and what to check to fix the problem. I hope this helps.
