I know it is frustrating to not be able to check the wiring with a wiring schematic. I agree 2 hours is a little long for biscuits.

If you will go to Parts Direct you can see a parts diagram and a wiring schematic for your range. There is also a wiring diagram showing where the wires go.

I am sending an image of the back of the control. If you have questions, reply on this thread and I will be glad to help.

Q:

After replacing my oven element it still isn't working. Could it be a fuse ? 79096613404 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you are experiencing with the oven cavity, I know how frustrating that is. I presume that when you installed the new bake element, the connection wires on each end were put back on the correct post of the element? Unfortunately, based upon the symptom of neither bake nor broil elements working, but the surface units still operating, it sounds like a tell-tale sign of a communication error between the electronic control board and the oven cavity.

This issue could be caused by an electrical surge to the electronic control board or a wire short. I would recommend testing the electronic board with a multimeter for continuity. If by chance the board does need to be replaced, I have provided blue links below for the replacement board and board overlay.

The image below shows the circuit for the bake and broil elements. Your details indicate that you measured L2 voltage going into the clock control board. If you do not measure L2 voltage going out of the control board when the range is set to the bake or broil mode then that clock control board (part 316418702) will need to be replaced.

NOTE: Extreme caution should be used when making live voltage checks. Wear proper protective equipment (insulated rubber electrical safety gloves and safety goggles) when measuring live voltage. Do not make physical contact with live wires or components when the range is energized with internal components exposed. Unplug the range as soon as live voltage checks are completed . You apparently were able to safely check that live voltage according to your details but we want all readers of this thread to properly understand the safety precautions that should be used when checking live voltage.

You can order that control board from the Sears PartsDirect website. Here is a direct link for that part: Clock Control Board . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components and replacing that control board.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

You don't appear to need a technician for this repair but just in case, here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
