Q:

My Kenmore model 790.9659* electric range 2 elements out of 3 does not heat up 79096592601 Kenmore Elite Electric range

Q:

Range will not bake or broil after running a self-cleaning cycle 79096592601 Kenmore Elite Electric range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com. I am sorry to hear about the inoperable oven cavity, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.

Typically with this type of symptom, it indicates a communication error between the electronic control board and the oven cavity. This model has a couple of different electronic boards. A technician would run continuity checks on the boards to determine which is defective.

Testing these boards are tricky, and without extensive electrical diagnostic testing experience, it will be a challenge for the average do-it-yourselfer.

I would recommend having a Sears Home Service Technician come to the home to assist with the diagnosis/repair on this unit. To set up service, click here to be directed to the Sears Home Services to set the appointment.

We wish you all the best with the repair and the range, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

KENMORE STOVE oven dosent work any more??

A:

Holiday time is upon us and a working oven is critical to the season and all the entertaining we do in our homes. I found a similar question from a previous post that may help with your diagnosis while you wait for the expert for your specific model. If you do need additional parts, a quick option is Sears Parts Direct to order right online. I attached both links below. Hopefully this will help get the oven back on track for you.

I know it's frustrating when the oven stops working. First, I suggest disconnecting power to the unit for 30 seconds and then reconnect it. This resets the control. If the top burners are working, it does indicate there is 230 volts to the unit. This will indicate the electronic control (EOC) # 316462850 has failed. To verify this, voltage at the control from L1 to L2 will need to be checked. If the voltage is there, the control will need to be replaced. Making voltage checks can be dangerous. A meter will be needed and unless you feel very confident in your repair skills, I recommend having a technician make this check. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I hope this help you.
