Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details it could be an issue in the house wiring or possibly breaker issues. All of the wiring connections in the range should be checked for any signs of burnt or loose connections first. The next thing would be to check the amperage draw of the range which should be performed by a service technician. Since turning on just the cook top burners and it tripped the main house breaker leads me to believe you may have wiring issue in the electrical supply in the house.

There should have been a double breaker or two individual circuit breakers dedicated for the range. You did not indicate if both breakers were replaced or not. In order to diagnose the problem will require checking the amperage draw/current draw with an amperage meter. If the amperage draw is lower than the circuit breaker rating and the breaker(s) are tripping, the problem is not with the range. The amperage/kilowatt rating should be indicated on the model and serial number tag. If the wattage rating on the model and serial number tag indicates a kilowatt range of 7.9-12.5 KW; the range needs to be on a 40 amp service. If the kilowatt is rated between 12.6 and 18.5 KW; the range should be on a 50 amp service.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
