Question and Answers

Q:

replacement instructions for the cooktop only.

A:

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. To remove the main top, disconnect the power to the range. Open the oven door and remove the 2 screws attaching the front edge of the main top to the cabinet. You can lift the main top like the hood of a car. The main top is hinged at the back. The burners are attached to the main top and will lift with it (image below). I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. Your range does not have an F40 error code listed. It does have an F30 error code listed, which is an issue with the oven sensor temperatue probe (316490000) or the main control board. This sounds like the issue you're experiencing. The temperature probe can be removed (image one) and tested for resistance (image two). At room temperature; the probe should measure approximately 1100 Ohms of resistance. If the temperature probe tests okay, then the main control board (316557207) will need to be replaced. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
